She literally does paint people:

She applies paint directly onto her subjects, thereby tricking the eye into believing that we're looking at a painted portrait rather than the real sitter.

When I first saw these, I assumed that Alexa had been Photoshopped into a painting. But no, that's actually her in real life painting someone to look like a painting.
